Personally, Krita doesn't offer me enough to make the move from CSP over to it. It really comes down to what you specifically really need in an art program in what Krita offers versus what CSP offers. I don't even use the EX features really because they're pretty niche and for specific purposes that I don't do in my process. Personally, CSP 1.0 has all the features I would see myself using. Which can be January all the way to June. That said, 2.0 according to their website won't be released until the early half of 2023. If you have no reason to get new features literally the day of release or as they come out, the sub is meaningless to you and is fully, 100% optional. So really, the sub is only for new features. but the base versions will be complete and fully useable + have all features of the previous versions. The "update pass" is for people who have purchased a perpetual and want feature updates.įeature updates are basically when they add new features to the program.Nothing changes for people who already use the sub either on desktop or mobile.I.e they will not receive new features as they come out. However, they will receive no new feature updates. All new versions (2, 3, etc.) will be (as far as my understanding and currently, understanding goes) sold as perpetual and still receive free bug and stability fixes. The subscription plan model is a mixed bag, but for the sake of simplicity: Clip Studio Paint being the digital version and Manga Studio the physical version. ![]() (Unofficial) Clip Studio Discussions Discord Server - Another channel to hang out and chat.Ĭlip Studio Paint and Manga Studio is basically the same product. There’s also “ Obscurient” by Aidan Clarke, which looks great and a few by GGBotNet which I like. Most of these other fonts are from Sara Linsley, a professional letterer, I appreciate her fonts a lot because they feel perfect for any sort of original comics and manga-like lettering. It’s very good for any kind of comics lettering, but especially if you want moving ligatures (OTF) and many international letters in one work. I always test if the fonts I use have the estonian letters ÖÄÜÕ, so I won’t have to re-letter a comic later on and this sort of setup is something I’ve been working out over various test files over the years (I used to have a Word doc of these)Ī font I have been using for a long time and which has been a staple in the webcomics and small print original comics I read is “ Ames” by Purastik OY. ![]() ![]() It’s a rather simple setup, but quite a few of my friends liked it so I thought I would share it. Comic font recommendations! I have kep this in my files for months as a sort of reference board file I kept coming back to, to keep good comics fonts in mind and now I am sharing it here ^^ You can find the full size images and the original test files for free on my Patreon + links to the fonts used.
